The number of articles published by IRD researchers reached 1451 references in the Web of Science, of which 61% were co-publications with a partner from the South. Taking into account the perimeter of the joint research units in which IRD participates, this scientific production represents 4449 publications, 44.5% of which are co-publications with a partner in developing countries.

Moreover, 11.3% of the documents published by IRD and 11.4% of the documents published by IRD with a signatory in the South are in the top 10% for citations of publications in their domain.

1.8% of the documents published by IRD are in the top 1% for citations of publications in their domain, and 2.5% of the documents published by IRD with a signatory in the South are in the top 1% for citations of publications in their domain.

All of these figures put IRD above the global average (respectively 10% and 1%).

9820 hours of teaching have been dispensed around the world by IRD researchers, mostly at Masters level. Vietnam, Peru, Senegal, Bolivia, Morocco and Brazil are the countries where the volume of teaching, all levels included, has been highest. IRD researchers have also dispensed 2130 hours of ongoing training, in 31 different countries. The theses of 1024 doctoral students have been guided or directed by IRD researchers. Over 400 of these are Africans. 122 IRD researchers have been involved in guiding, advising and/or designing the scientific content for already operational Masters programmes, and 10 in Masters programmes that are in development.
